Mining
equipment in several displays such as the one to the right
shows the evolution of gold mining from the legendary panning
method to the huge dredges. |
There
are dozens of large historic gold dredging photogaphs
around the property. With text explanations by Yukon
historian Murray Lundberg, they tell of the excitement
and the hardships of this part of gold mining history. |
Real
pay dirt from an active claim in the Klondike was trucked
down and now sits next to our panning area. Over 100
guests can pan simultaneously with plenty of room to
spare. All panning troughs, including one which is wheelchair
ready, are plumbed with warm water. You will be provided
an initial panning demonstration & instruction, and other
experienced gold panners will be on hand to help you
get the hang of it. |
